Acupuncture for Pain Relief

Is Pain Costing You Money, Time and Happiness? Pain conditions can range from acute injuries such as tendon tears, strains, and sprains, to more chronic conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, or migraines. Anyone who has experienced pain first hand knows the toll it can take on your emotional and physical well-being, and I want to change that.

Both acute and chronic pain conditions respond very well to acupuncture treatment. Treatment can help reduce pain caused by swelling and inflammation and promote blood flow to the site of injury allowing for faster tissue recovery. For those that are suffering from long-term or chronic pain, acupuncture can address the underlying imbalance while stimulating the body’s natural pain killers, decreasing the need for long-term pain medication.

Back Pain and Neck Pain

Back Pain and Neck pain are two of the most frequent conditions that come into my office. They are extremely common and can be very debilitating depending on severity and frequency of the pain. The majority of us will experience back pain, neck pain or both at some point in our lives and for many of us, this will become a chronic condition that affects our quality of life. If you are experiencing acute or chronic pain in your back or neck, it may be caused by one or more of the following issues:
  • Bulging or Herniated Disc
  • Muscle Spasms
  • Spinal Stenosis
  • Posture Imbalances
  • SI Joint Problems
  • Spondylolysis
  • Sciatic Nerve Impingement
Acupuncture has been clinically proven to help with chronic back and neck pain by rebalancing the muscles that support the back and the spine. Acupuncture helps speed tissue recovery while alleviating muscle tension. Anyone who gets regular headaches will tell you how debilitating they can be. Whether you suffer from occasional tension headaches, migraines or hormonal induced headaches, acupuncture can help. Acupuncture has been shown to help with both the severity and frequency of headaches allowing individuals to reduce their pain without the use of medication.

Joint Problems

Our joints are particularly susceptible to injury due to increased movement with regular range of motion. Additionally, the tissue that helps our joints maintain stability has less blood flow than other tissues in the body, making regeneration and recovery time longer for joint injury.

Acupuncture has the ability to increase blood flow and stimulate our natural painkillers, helping with recovery of the joint tissue as well as pain management.
